(Carson, CA) Washington Monthly magazine has ranked California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in three of its college rankings lists: “Master’s University Rankings,” “Best 4-Year Colleges for Adult Learners,” and “Best Bang for the Buck.”
Considered one of the most objective rankings of higher education, Washington Monthly uniquely examines what four-year universities do for the country as a whole based on their contributions to the public good.
CSUDH was ranked 39th on the magazine’s overall “Master’s University Rankings” list, which rates institutions for their contribution to the public good based on three equally weighted criteria: social mobility, or the ability of graduates to earn a good living; research, both in terms of research dollars and students who go on to earn Ph.D.; and community service.
The university also ranked 25th on the “Best 4-Year Colleges for Adult Learners” list, which looks at a number of key indicators, including ease of transfer, flexibility of programs, and graduation rates, among others.
The magazine’s “Best Bang for the Buck” ranking is a mix of some of the U.S.’s most elite institutions and regional state universities with strong student outcomes and a commitment to social mobility. CSUDH came in at 25th among western colleges for making college more affordable and accessible.
