CSU Dominguez Hills Appoints Dean of College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences
California State University, Dominguez Hills announces the appointment of Dr. Rodrick Hay as dean of the College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences (CNBS), effective July 1. Hay came to CSU Dominguez Hills in 1996 as a member of CNBS's Department of Earth Science faculty, first as an assistant professor and now as a full professor. He chaired that department from 1999 to 2002 and again in 2004, the same year he received the university's Presidential Outstanding Professor Award. In 2005 he was named associate dean of CNBS, his current position. Award-winning author Brando Skyhorse will discuss his debut book, “The Madonnas of Echo Park,” during the annual Pat Eliet Memorial Lecture at California State University, Dominguez Hills, on May 2 at 7 p.m. in Claudia Hampton Hall in Welch Hall. “As an author who is at the start of his career as a novelist, he can interact directly with students and novice authors, to de-mystify the process of becoming a published writer,” said associate professor of English Roderick Hernandez, who is organizing the lecture.
