California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) has been named a STARS Bronze Institution by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), marking the first time the campus has been recognized nationally for its overall environmental sustainability efforts. AASHE's STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Reporting System) rating system examines such criteria as campus and public engagement, sustainable operations, planning and administration, and innovation and leadership. 2018 Art and Design Faculty Exhibition Opens in University Art Gallery
(Carson, CA) “2018 Art and Design Faculty Exhibition,” featuring work by 12 members of the California State University, Dominguez Hills Art and Design Department, runs Sept. 17 through Oct. 10. An opening reception for the artists will take place on Monday, Sept. 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. For new University Art Gallery Director Aandrea Stang, art is more than just a sculpture or a painting on the wall - it's a way of engaging with the world around it. Hawk McFadzen Honored with CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement
During a break at a Hollywood restaurant where they prepared sumptuous cuts of meat, lobster, pâté, and colorful cheese and fruit platters, California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) graduate student Hawk McFadzen recalls spending their time filling out paperwork to apply for food stamps for their children. “We [restaurant employees] could never afford to eat where we worked, or even eat well after work because we were also dealing with what's called time poverty.
